I've had a long career as a self-employed craftsman, first as a potter, (30 years, had to give up due to the proverbial potter's back and thumbs), then a short period as a china painter, now a confectioner, and along the way dabbling with interior design, floristry, playing and teaching music, and now lampworking.
This is my latest craze/addiction, just as all these things have taken me over in the past. My friends say I have an obsessive personality, but I'm glad to find that I'm not alone, as I have met many others like me on the lampworking forum 'Frit Happens' who are similarly posessed! I now play with sugar and glass in equal (time) proportions, and try not to get them mixed up!
A proud grandma of eight and great-grandma of ten, I live in the small town of Alford in mid Lincolnshire not far from the sea, which has a formidable reputation as a centre for crafts and music. I'm really enjoying making beads, and making lovely things with them, developing my skills as I go along. It's such an exciting adventure, and I've always loved adventures!
